I can’t believe I broke down and started a blog!  Truth is, I’ve always had an urge to write.  Embarking on adoption #3 seemed as good a time as any to get started.

A brief recap of the last ten years: college, then Tanzania, then law school, then Tanzania again.  Volunteered at a children’s village, taught school, climbed a couple of mountains.  My heart was changed forever and a dream of adopting one day was born.

Changed careers a time or two (or three).   My first adoption journey began while I was still in law school, getting a home study before graduating.  A week after taking the bar exam I flew back to Tanzania.  I spent the next year working for dear friends, at their hospital in the bush.

It was in that year that I adopted my son, Coleton, and my daughter, Addison --- after quite a few setbacks, challenges and heartbreaks.  We’ve been home together now for over four years.  They rock me to the core almost every day with their insights, their humor and their capacity to rise above.

In the winter of 2012 my heart began to stir, feeling like our family was meant to grow again.

Thanks for stopping by!  Come back again soon!
